Forestia Junior
"Forestia Junior" offers children, from the age of four to seven, the possibility of exploring and discovering the different realms of forests. The central visual metaphor is a forest which is highly visualised by the use of three-dimensional animations of exceptional quality. Using a relatively intuitive interface, the child can navigate through the forest at ground level, in the treetops, underground, and in a special clearing in the very centre of the forest. Throughout the whole experience children meet many different animated characters who introduce them to educational games aimed at increasing their awareness of the environment and nature. The forest and the animations are conceived entirely in three dimensions. Due to its high educational value and humorous approach, "Forestia Junior" succeeds in introducing children to the real forest and environmental problems.
In fact, one of the product's strengths is its ability not only to increase the awareness of environmental issues but also to teach children basic literacy skills and help them with hand and eye co-ordination.

Sigmund Freud - Archaeology of the Unconscious
"Sigmund Freud - Archaeology of the Unconscious" is a tool for educating ourselves both about Freud and about our subconscious. It is not only about Sigmund Freud, but also about his theories and his relationship to art. Several selected aspects of these topics are recounted in eleven independent stories. The producers developed the content in co-operation with the Sigmund Freud Society in Vienna, whose members are famous psychoanalysts and Freud experts from the Freud museums in Vienna and London. They managed to present the scientific foundation of both the written content and the correct visualisation of Freud's theories. In this way they succeeded in explaining abstract theories like "The Interpretation of Dreams", targeted at an audience not familiar with Freud's complex theories.
"Sigmund Freud - Archaeology of the Unconscious" is a personification of adventurousness, both in its choice of subject, and in its human interface.

The Cell1 - Life from Light and Air
"The Cell I - Life from Light and Air" is the first in a series of educational interactive CD-ROMs on cell-biology topics which also includes an online service (www.cells.de ). Designed for students at high school, college and university, it explains one of the most important cell processes, photosynthesis. By showing the structure and appearance in the cell by means of 3D objects, video clips and many microscopic shots, the product examines chloroplasts. In the virtual laboratory the user can plan and carry out different experiments. This is one of the highlights of the program, to be able to combine three-dimensional units, both abstract and specific, where the user can dissect plants for their cell components, then examine them further through microscopic enhancement. "The Cell I" is representative of what a high-quality, content-driven educational product should be. "The Cell I" conveys a point of view of authority, depth of field and seriousness of purpose. Sound and visuals are interwoven harmoniously. The product is easy to navigate and represents a well-structured course on cell analysis through well-defined three-dimensional elements.
Scope and sequence, the two important steps in developing course understanding, are handled capably.
