Wanted: Europe’s most creative multimedia designers!
The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards, the European leading contest for young creative multimedia designers, are now open for entries. Creative media designers can participate until July, the awards will be presented in November in the Austrian „Candidate City of Design“ Graz.

The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards address young, creative talents under 30 years, who work in the field of media design and e-Content. Focusing on innovation, creativity and originality, the EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards differ from the other contest. The main idea is to encourage the best young talents from all around Europe and establish a Europe-wide platform for promoting the best multimedia projects. In addition to the renowned awards the EUROPRIX offers an international network of students, producers and lecturers. The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards are organized for the 13th time and invite students and young professionals from 38 countries.

All first time participants can enter for free! Creativity and innovation must be encouraged as key for personal and economical development in economically difficult times.

Projects can be entered into the following categories: Online / Web Projects; Offline Projects / Interactive DVD; Mobile Contents & Applications; Games; Computer Graphics & Design; Interactive Installations; Online & Digital Video / TV; Content Tools & Interface Design; Animations.
All projects can additionally be registered in regard to their „Business Potential" and their „Creative Design".
New in 2010: The EUROPRIX Special Award „Innovative Multimedia Concept". So far, only finished and marketable projects have been entitled to participate, now with this Special Award creative, innovative concepts can be entered in the competition.

The 30 finalist teams will receive an all-inclusive invitation to the- EUROPRIX Multimedia Festival in the Austrian "Candidate City of Design, Graz. The finalists will have the possibility to see, amongst others, a public presentation of their projects at the Festival, the exhibition of their projects with the video in cooperation with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation Styria, the presentation at the Gala, the presentation of the projects in the EUROPRIX publications online and offline, as well as the active participation in the Europe-wide network of young, creative producers.

The EUROPRIX is considered an utterly important stepping stone among young multimedia designers who have found the successful road to their professional independence with the award or have reached the potential employers through the acquired publicity.

The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards are organized by the International Center for New Media (ICNM).The ICNM is a non-profit organization with the focus on selection and promotion of the top-quality interactive media contents. The EUROPRIX and the Festival are supported by the Federal Ministry of the Economy, Family and Youth of the Republic of Austria, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research, the City of Graz, the Styrian Chamber of Commerce and the Creative Industries Styria.

EUROPRIX MULTIMEDIA AWARDS Winner 2008: müPrizes will be awarded in each category, with an overall winner. Projects which are well-received by the jury will be awarded a Quality Seal in recognition of good work - a certificate which could make a big impression on future employers. In addition, 2009 sees a new, special award on the list - for the project with the most promising business potential.

No doubt about it, we're all feeling the squeeze of the financial crisis. But here's the good news: under the slogan, "Don't cry - create!" the EUROPRIX team are offering first time participants a "crisis discount"! That means no registration fee for newcomers!

This year's countdown to the EURORPIX Multimedia Festival:
Register by June 30th at www.europrix.org. All entries will be evaluated by an international jury of experts in a four-day session in August.

The EUROPRIX Multimedia Festival will take place in the Austrian culture hot-spot of Graz, in mid-November. Attracting producers, opinion leaders, communication experts and business executives from all over Europe, the festival is the epicentre of the up-and-coming European multimedia scene. "On no other place and in no other context are any comparable fruitful co-operations fixed. The future of the young scene is constructed at and around this festival", concludes Prof. Peter A. Bruck, head of EUROPRIX.

Finalist teams will not be left alone with their success: they will be promoted at road show events throughout Europe, take centre stage of a special exhibition at the Museum of Technology in Vienna, and gain a highly coveted place in the EUROPRIX yearbook.
