Top Talent Festival 2004

November, 19 - 21 , Architekturzentrum / MuseumsQuartier, Vienna, Austria

World-wide attention for Europe’s young talents
The Top Talent Festival showcased and promoted the most talented students and young professionals of this year’s EUROPRIX Top Talent Award 2004, awarding them for their outstanding achievements. 70 nominees, 30 instructors and about 50 invited VIP guests from all across Europe turned the MuseumsQuartier into a vibrant center for creativity and innovation.

Over three days, the festival provided a platform for networking and sharing ideas, experiences and business contacts between the newcomers, instructors, representatives of the international IT and creative industries as well as media editors and journalists.

The Top Talent Festival program offered a wide range of high professional keynotes of business experts, dynamic workshops, entertaining and interesting project presentations and parties. The exhibition of the Top Talent projects and the Top Talent Award Gala Night were the special highlights of the festival. Especially during the multimedia live presentations this year's Top Talent Teams demonstrated their ingenuity in the use of the technology as a tool or a toy. Their presentations arrested the attention of all festival participants. “Absolutely fascinating”, says the British BBC Radio 1 star Charles Kriel about the 8 category winners.

Matching films with games engines: TTA workshops Paul and Amy Marino from New York held a two days workshop with a selected group of students to explore the world of Machinima, a new art from blending the practices of filmmaking, animation, and 3D game technology.

While the students created their first short movies with Machinima, the US Americans, Keith Boesky, a video gaming pioneer, and Gabe Garner from hillmancurtis, inc. gave keynote lectures on the topics of business solutions, the future of video gaming as well as design and web.
